Water reconnaissance robot (uBot—WST): This intelligent reconnaissance robot system is designed for lakes and nearshore waters. It is compact, collects extensive information and is easy to operate. It can be widely used for environmental observation, scientific research, water-quality monitoring, water-area surveying, port monitoring, maritime search and rescue, public-security reconnaissance, unmanned patrols, and public-security and firefighting operations in rivers, lakes and other waters. It uses propellers for fast speed and flexible operation, and is equipped with GPS positioning and a sonar detector. Multiple surface and underwater video feeds can be monitored simultaneously. It is easy to load and comes with a transport case that can be loaded onto a vehicle. The case-type controller has a large LCD, a high-quality joystick and four-channel image monitoring, providing safe, reliable and stable operation. Its batteries can be charged online and spare batteries can be replaced quickly. It supports rapid deployment, rapid response, simple operation and convenient maintenance. It was applied at the 2010 Xi’an Horticultural Expo and in case-response services.
